Boulder Beer has shifted plans once again, announcing that the Pub at Boulder Beer Co. at 2880 Wilderness Place in Boulder will serve its last food and drink on Saturday, Jan. 18.
The fourth quarter of 2019 revealed many changes for Boulder Beer. First announcing its plans to discontinue manufacturing and operate as a brewpub, followed by a partnership with Sleeping Giant Brewing Co. to continue the Boulder Beer brands for the retail market.
And we start 2020 with even more news: An opportunity to sell the building at 2880 Wilderness Place recently presented itself to the ownership group, and they took it.
“After closing the manufacturing side of our business and then creating a relationship with Sleeping Giant, we feel it is now in our best interest to pursue this opportunity to sell the building,” said Gina Day, owner. “The 19,000-sq-ft production facility has proven to be too large for our brewpub to operate within.”
Because of the new partnership with Sleeping Giant, fans of the beer will still be able to find the brands on draft and in six-packs at their favorite liquor stores, groceries, bars and restaurants, keeping the Boulder Beer legacy alive at retail.
The staff at Boulder Beer will have access to job opportunities with their sister company Concept Restaurants should they decide to join their team.
When asked if there’s a chance for a new Boulder Beer Pub to open elsewhere in the future, Day said:
“With all of these changes, it isn’t out of the picture that you may see a new Boulder Beer Pub open sometime down the road.”
