The 4th of July is maybe the biggest beer drinking holiday in America. The Brewers Association (BA) recently noted sales are typically up 35 percent on July 4 compared to a typical week. The BA, a trade organization that represents independent brewers by this definition, is taking the opportunity to celebrate indie breweries on Independence Day (clever idea) by launching a new national digital campaign. The campaign calls on beer drinkers to seek the independent craft brewer seal (this thing) and purchase craft beers produced by small and independent breweries for their Independence Day festivities. The association is calling it the “National Independent Beer Run Day,” and it’s hoping to celebrate it every year.
From the press release:
“Craft beer serves as the anchor for so many Independence Day celebrations. Our libations and the liberation we’re celebrating should go hand in hand. As you plan for this Fourth of July, think independent and drink independent,” said Julia Herz, craft beer program director, Brewers Association. “In preparation for the country’s favorite summer holiday, make sure your beer run includes independent craft beer.”
The BA released these three fun videos as a part of the campaign. “Hotdogs” at the very top is especially good. To locate an independent brewery, visit Brewery Finder on CraftBeer.com.
