The leap from homebrewer to professional brewer takes a lot of time, money and equipment. It also takes a lot of physical space. Just ask Ole Pederson, co-owner of Mad Mole Brewing in Wilmington, N.C. The money and space constraints of operating both a brewery and a taproom led Mad Mole to incorporate Paul Mueller Co. serving beer tanks, eliminating the need for kegs and a walk-in cooler while catching the eye of thirsty customers walking into the place. They do look very cool — especially with proper signage indicating what beer is inside — see the video above. At Mad Mole’s 2,000-sq-ft brewery, barkeeps serve 12 perfectly carbonated beers on tap, at all times, from beautiful, steely, horizontally-mounted serving tanks. Watch the equally beautiful video above. No extra brite tanks. No carb worries. No wasted space in a right-sized brew and serve operation.
