Our good friends at Rocket Frog Brewing Co. have already had a few soft openings for their Loudoun County, Va., brewhouse. I actually visited it last week for a private tour (enjoy some photos below) to peep the digs and enjoy some tasty brews (the double IPA, Angry Angry Alice, is truly out of this world). I’ve been drinking with the Hartogs twins since we were in college together, and these occasional CBB collaborators were a big part of introducing craft culture to this beer journalist.
Now these twin brothers are finally going pro. David and Richard Hartog’s Rocket Frog Brewing will have its grand opening in Sterling, Va., this weekend on May 19. Rocket Frog will open with five beers on tap: Angry Alice IPA, Minotaur American Golden Ale, Wallops Island American Brown Ale, the aforementioned Double IPA and a Dry Saison. The Grand Opening starts at 11 a.m. for Launch Pad Members. Noon for the general public. Expect a food truck on site as well as pretzels from Nordic Knots for sale — plus snacks for the kidos.
You may remember the Hartogs bros from our new favorite beer serial created by Landmark Media Production. To capture the grueling amount of hurdles required to open a brewery, Rocket Frog Brewing and Landmark have slowly been releasing a YouTube series to promote the opening of the northern Virginia brewery. Enjoy some of those videos above and below.
