Rushing Duck Brewery signed a distribution agreement with Remarkable Liquids of Albany, N.Y. The agreement will allow Rushing Duck to be distributed throughout the Hudson Valley and Capital District. Prior to the deal, the brewery was self-distributing.
“We are lucky to be far ahead of our projections and find ourselves unable to meet the consumer demand for our products,” said Nikki Cavanaugh, head of sales and marketing for Rushing Duck. “We are excited to work with a craft-only distribution company who will focus on representing our brand, while we focus on brewing the best beer possible.”
As of April 22, Remarkable Liquids will take over all distribution throughout the Hudson Valley. Rushing Duck will launch in the NYS Capitol District during “American Craft Beer Week” in mid-May.
“I was blown away by the quality of beer produced by such a young brewery and can’t wait to see what comes next,” said Matt Hartman, partner at Remarkable Liquids. “We are excited to play a role in the growth of a great N.Y. brewery.”
Rushing Duck fans can expect to see more of their year round Naysayer Pale Ale, Beanhead Coffee Porter, and Nimtopsical Ale as well as seasonal brews like Kroovy the monstrous Red Double IPA and the new spring seasonal Bauli Saison. Bauli is brewed with kaffir lime leaves, coriander, white peppercorns and is fermented to 6 percent ABV using a rustic farmhouse yeast.
Remarkable Liquids is a craft-distribution company based in Albany, NY. Shipping their first case in July of 2012, Remarkable Liquids was created to offer a distribution option different from all others in NYS. Selling only craft beer, cider and kombucha, Remarkable Liquids is committed to passionately purveying the highest quality beverages in the world.
Rushing Duck Brewing Co. started as an idea in a dorm room in 2006. Founder, Dan Hitchcock was disillusioned by the college beer of choice and while still enrolled in college for political science, Hitchcock decided that brewing professionally was what he wanted to do for a living. So before even graduating he applied to the American Brewer’s Guild for a degree in Intensive Brewing Science and Engineering.
While taking the American Brewer’s Guild’s distant learning program, Hitchcock also worked as a cellarman at Weyerbacher Brewing Co. in Easton, Pa. After finishing the Brewer’s Guild program and getting a promotion to lead brewer at Weyerbacher, he began to focus again on opening his own brewery. Finally, in the summer of 2012, he and his father, Les, opened the doors of their Orange County brewery. Since then Rushing Duck Brewing has focused on producing the highest quality beer possible for their NYS brethren.
