After almost 26 years in the homebrew supply business and nine years of brewing, Listermann Brewing Co. is getting a new look. The brewery has been working with LemonGrenade Creative, a graphic design company in Hamilton, Ohio, owned by Tommy Long. Both companies have been working hard for the past few months to get the brewery ready for this brand refresh.
Drum roll? …..
The LemonGrenade team explains the thought process.
“Listermann’s new identity allows their small batch beer factory to be as wild and eccentric as possible,” said Brian Simons, art director at LemonGrenade Creative. “We simplified the iconic kettle mascot and limited the color palette to allow room for the individual beers to take the spotlight. This encourages the quirky, and lets each beer be its own art piece while tying together the overall brand. This colorful and bold packaging creates a unique distinction on the typically uniform retail shelf. Listermann is making craft beer fun again by taking away all predictability and adding excitement around each new beer release.”
Besides the new logo, the taproom has been updated with a new draft system and back bar to match the front bar. In the past month Listermann has added a Kitchen in Renegade Grill as well.
“We’ve been working with Lemon Grenade for as long as I’ve been here and a face lift has been talked about for awhile. The new changes to our brand fit with our new tap room and the direction we want to take the brewery for the next decade” said Jason Brewer, Listermann Brewing’s general manager.
The new logo was revealed in the taproom on August 5, which also coincided with the release of two new beers, Lil Jimmy IIPA and Bring the Hops IPA.
