Tippecanoe County. One the best county names in all of the Midwest. Its county seat is Lafayette, Ind., and on Olympic Drive in Lafayette sits Palmer Canning Systems‘ manufacturing facility, designing and assembling cool canning lines for the beverage industries; the company’s headquarters is actually in Chicago. Palmer has had an eye on canning for quite some time. It installed its first canning line in June 2013. Today, it has more than 45 canning lines installed — Cameron’s Brewing Co. in Ontario, Canada, Against the Grain Brewery and Smokehouse in Louisville, Ky., and War Horse Brewing Co. in upstate New York, to name a few.
In fact, Palmer Canning Systems just recently entered into an agreement with WaveGrip poly can carriers for North American distribution and licensed manufacturing of its automated carrier application systems. That means more availability to you for low-cost dependable and sustainable ways to package 2-, 4-, 6- and 8-pack aluminum beer cans. The polymer carrier with universal pitch can be applied with a manual system up to 50 cpm and automated systems from 100 to 300 cpm.
“As for our recent partnership with WaveGrip, we are really excited to be working with them and see tremendous success in the future for a couple of reasons,” said Susan Brennan, marketing and projects coordinator with Palmer. “WaveGrip is producing material that is more environmentally friendly than the existing coalition options on the market currently. Additionally, WaveGrip offers more value for your money compared to their competitors. They are the lowest cost carriers on the market. WaveGrip is a wonderfully seamless addition to any one of Palmer Canning’s in line, counter pressure, automated systems.”
Products from Palmer include the CraftBloc and CraftSeam, which are robust counter-pressure filling systems that provide accurate fill volumes, low oxygen pickup and low spoilage. The CraftBulk de-pal is a turnkey line to meet your standards with an automated can de-palletizing system. Can conveyance systems include CraftRinse (an empty can rinser, standard with waterless ionization for reduction in water usage) and CraftDry (a post fill rinsing and drying system designed for cost-effective performance with 2.5, 4.5 and 10-horsepower blower and manifold options).
