After five years, Mich.-based Arcadia Brewing Co. is returning to Maryland. Expanding distribution and re-entering the state is made possibly by additional capacity provided by the new brewery in Kalamazoo as well as newly acquired 100-barrel fermentation tanks.
This is an especially big deal to Tim Suprise, founder and CEO of Arcadia Brewing Co., who has always had a passion for finding a niche for the Arcadia brand in the East Coast, having roots himself in upstate New York. Bringing back distribution to Maryland will enhance the East Coast portfolio, which also comprises New York and Pennsylvania.
Arcadia will be helped in reaching Maryland beer drinkers by Bond Distribution Co., Baltimore’s third generation, family-owned and operated beer wholesaler. Bond has expanded, embraced and excelled in becoming Baltimore’s craft beer supplier through an evolving portfolio, dedication to service and understanding retailer needs and consumer demands.

Heading the return to the Maryland is Arcadia’s new President, Jim Lutz, whose East Coast roots also run deep, having held key positions at a variety of East Coast brewing companies, including President/CEO of Wild Goose Brewery in Cambridge, a leading brand in the early days of the Craft Beer scene, VP of Sales at Flying Dog in Maryland and CEO of Fordham/Dominion.
“I am looking forward to bringing Arcadia Ales back to Maryland and working with my old friend Matt Crow and the gang at Bond Distributing, continuing my mission of making friends, selling beer and having fun,” he stated.
