We assume Texas is always unbearably hot, overrun by armadillos and usually about one step away from secession. It’s a state that certainly needs a vast and intricate beer-coping network, so we were pleased to see the ultimate chillax’perts of SweetWater Brewing Co. will soon begin distribution in Texas with Ben E. Keith Co. Maybe a Hash Session IPA will help those Texans cool their boots and vibe out.
Here’s to hoping, anyway.
Starting August 22, locals in Austin and the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex (BTW, a metroplex is a contiguous metropolitan area that has more than one principal anchor city; also, it just sounds frickin’ awesome) will be able to sip on SweetWater’s signature 420 Extra Pale Ale, the popular Hash Session IPA, its award winning IPA, the crowd pleasing Blue, plus seasonals like fall’s Hash Brown and limited release styles like Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout and Pit & Pendulum. SweetWater will be on draft at bars and restaurants, in grocery stores, package stores and specialty bottle shops.
Here’s a quote from the press release:
“We are excited to sell and distribute SweetWater’s high quality and award-winning beers,” said Flint Prewitt, vice president of sales and operations for Ben E. Keith. “Their impactful marketing and beer styles are a perfect fit for the Texas craft beer drinker.”
Craft lovers in the state should follow SweetWater’s Texas Facebook page for information on launch events, and where they can spot the brewery’s iconic rainbow trout tap handle.
