A quality-conscious, ingredients-heavy ale isn’t that cheap to make, and nothing is really that cheap to make, distribute and sell for a small business. That’s reflected in the price of craft. It ain’t cheap, and everyone must get their cut (just look at the profit breakdown of a bottle of beer). But even a premium product like craft beer should consider consumers who prefer to spend less money. It’ll be an excellent way to stand out from the craft competition.
The other day we noticed Big Hole Brewing Co. had a simple, yet clever outreach program for craft beer buyers. The Bozeman, Mont.-based brewhouse (selling suds since 1996) is offering rewards and coupons during the month of June to entice buyers. Big Hole announced that it is working with Checkout 51, one of the fastest growing mobile cash-back savings apps in the United States, to offer $1 in savings when customers purchase a four-pack of Big Hole Brewing beer starting in June (dates below). From the press release:
“We believe that in this increasingly over-crowded beer market it’s important to offer craft beer enthusiasts in Montana a special incentive to reach for our products at their favorite craft beer store,” said Big Hole Brewing Founder Jeff Dafoe. “We’re excited by the opportunity that Checkout 51 offers us to encourage the trial of our hand-built beers via a cool new savings platform.”
How does it work?
Checkout 51 is an easy-to-use savings app that allows members to earn cash back by taking a photo of their receipt. It’s retail agnostic so consumers can shop at any store they choose. Every Thursday, Checkout 51 updates its offers with new savings opportunities. Checkout 51 is available in the App Store and Google Play.
