Florida’s Grayton Beer adds four fermenters, one brite tank and eight employees

Are you looking for sugar-white sand, turquoise water and refreshing craft beer? Try Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. (between Laguna Beach and Destin). Just make sure you take us with you. ‘Cause we want to snag us some Grayton Beer Co. beverages (Handful of Thorns, please). The five-year-old craft brewhouse is apparently killing it down there. How do we know? The locally owned and operated brewery just significantly increased its brewing capacity.

“From grain to glass, Grayton Beer Company takes pride in the product we produce and the team we’ve assembled to do so. Our recent expansion represents so much more than just the growth of our company. It also represents growth in our economy, which means a lot to us,” said Jamey Price, founder of Grayton Beer.

The brewery, located in South Walton County, expanded its production capacity with the addition of four 120-barrel (bbl) fermenters and one 275-bbl brite tank. The new equipment increases the brewery’s capacity by over 1,000 bbls per month, roughly 29,000 gallons. The expansion in equipment and demand for the classic, contemporary beers has created eight full time positions.

What’s the story behind Grayton Beer?

Started in 2011 by founder Jamey Price, Grayton Beer Co. has been successful throughout the Florida panhandle for the last five years. This success, in combination with the brewery’s growth, has propelled the company’s launch into new markets, including middle Tennessee and all of Georgia. Until recently, Grayton Beer was only distributed in Alabama and the panhandle of Florida.
