Steam boilers are commonly used in the brewing industry because their heating capabilities are ideal for producing hot water to keep production areas sanitary. They also maintain appropriate temperatures in the pasteurization process to eliminate microbiological risks in the end product. All of these tasks are essential to fulfill the demands of production while ensuring efficient use of time and energy. And it’s that “energy” part of the equation, especially these days, that could still use some work.
To that end, AvantiRenewables, Byworth Boilers and Janfire UK announced a three-way commercial partnership that is set to bring environmental and financial savings to brewery businesses looking for energy and cost-efficient steam boilers. Byworth Boilers is one of the UK’s leading commercial steam biomass boiler manufacturers; Janfire UK is a provider of Swedish burners and technology; and AvantiRenewables is a division of AvantiGas, a major off-grid energy supplier. The three believe this new enterprise will offer industrial biomass steam boilers to breweries with no upfront capital commitment and a promise to reduce CO2 emissions.
The “whole solution” approach combines decades of operational knowledge, engineering expertise and resources to provide a complete biomass steam boiler package to facilitate high power cleaning, sterilization and energy efficient heating.

The steam boiler solutions offered by the AvantiRenewables collaboration include brand new technology, high efficiency and low carbon energy, and capital funding so no up front financial commitment is required. They are also predicted to deliver CO2 savings of around 2,000 tonnes each year per MW of installed capacity.
The AvantiRenewables biomass fuel supply chain operation offers optional liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) back up supplies should additional peace of mind be required.
“This partnership reflects a significant leap in energy provision with three key industry players joining forces to bring cost, environmental benefits and energy savings to the UK’s breweries which use steam as part of their production processes and sanitization,” said AvantiGas Managing Director Neil Murphy. “We are delighted to be working alongside two established manufacturers who have a combined 70 years expertise to collectively deliver the very best in cost-effective steam boiler technology.”
“It has long been our aim to provide a holistic and complete steam energy solution to businesses which are looking for a more responsible and energy efficient means of operation,” said Adrian Rhodes Technical Director of Byworth Boilers. “For more than 40 years we have been engineering, supplying and installing fuel efficient boiler solutions to help reduce the carbon footprint in the UK.”
