The Comac Group, manufacturer of bottling and keg cleaning/filling plants, has started aiming some of its focus on the canning of the U.S. craft brewing industry.
Available for North American breweries and beverage companies through its exclusive agent Eurosource Inc. of Dallas, the Comac line extends from compact and economical Monoblock plants with rinsing/filling/crowning substations ideal for customers with minimal floor space to high speed fully automated installations. Monobloc machines are built with welded stainless steel frames with a rigid structure to prevent vibrations.
Its first can unit installation came in 2012 for Real Ale Brewing Co. during the brewery’s 16th anniversary party. This Comac can line brings high efficiency for a small line and extremely low oxygen pickup and a nominal output up to 4,000 cph (66 cpm). Comac reports its engineers were extremely happy with the low oxygen pickup values they were able to achieve.
The company noted that its line of canning machines starts with the model 8-1 (eight filling heads) with top speed of 4,000 cans per hour. This machine was specifically designed for the U.S. craft brewing market.
Comac brings their 20 years of experience in beer processing and packaging, gained through cooperation with many breweries in the world. The oxygen absorption rate of beer is a crucial factor for its shelf life, especially if unfiltered and unpasteurized. Comac knows this very well and can assure excellent and ascertainable results to craft breweries. A final quality check of the beer oxygen content is made electronically.
Comac included a quote from Real Ale Owner Brad Farbstein’s email to the company in its press announcement:
“We are extremely happy with the equipment and found Fabio and Steven to be qualified, responsible and committed to an efficient and trouble-free commissioning of the can line. We will continue to spread the word about the quality and reliability of Comac Equipment to our fellow brewers in the United States.”
In addition to the can line, Real Ale also has a Comac keg washer/filler, which has been in production for several years.
