Responding to increased consumer demand, Oregon-based Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB) announced the recent signing of new distribution agreements to send its sustainably brewed beer to Alaska and Hawaii. In addition, HUB added three 80-bbl. fermentation tanks to expand its brewing capacity to 22,000 bbls annually. Starting in March, Hopworks beer will be available in cans, bottles and on-draft in leading taphouses, grocery stores and markets in the two states.
“We are working to incrementally grow in the region while meeting existing demands and increasing our capacity in a meaningful way,” said Christian Ettinger, brewmaster and founder of Hopworks. “For us, it’s all about sharing great organic and sustainably-made beer while modeling environmentally responsible business practices.”
K&L Distributors Inc. was selected to bring HUB beer to accounts in Anchorage, Fairbanks and the surrounding area and in Hawaii, Hopworks is partnering with Craft Northwest Distributors for accounts on Oahu, including Whole Foods Market and Tamura’s Fine Wine & Liquors.
“Craft Northwest is dedicated to bringing the world-class craft beers of the Pacific Northwest to our Ohana in Hawaii,” said Adam Smith, co-owner of Craft Northwest, ”Hopworks Urban Brewery is without a doubt producing some of the best beer in the region, and we are proud and excited to represent them in this dynamic, diverse and growing market.”
