Escape Craft Brewery to open in Redlands, Calif.

Redlands, Calif., already home to Ritual Brewing Co., Hangar 24 and Wild Donkey Brewing Co., is close to adding one more brewery to the list. Escape Craft Brewery, the brainchild of Josh and Melissa Fisher, has been two years in the making. The couple told Redlands Daily Facts that they think the other breweries in their area will be a benefit to their business plan.

“Having Hangar 24, Ritual and Wild Donkey in town has absolutely created a craft beer destination, (which) will help us succeed,” Josh said. “The more breweries we have in town, the more we’ll attract craft beer lovers.”

According to the the Redlands Daily Facts article, Escape’s brewing location will include a tasting room and patio, partially constructed of reused wood. Like many craft breweries, the Fisher are hoping to make the tasting room/patio a focal point of its plan.

“Craft beer has been taking off like crazy,” Melissa said. “With our tasting rooms we really want to create this communal environment, and for adults in town, there’s not a lot of places to go. (Escape) is not a restaurant. It’s not a bar. It will be a place where you can bring your family.”

“Tasting rooms,” she said, have “been a good part of why breweries have done so well.”
