It’s clear that the Craft Brewing Business crew is a huge fan of craft beer. But we’re also closet video game nerds. There’s nothing like cracking open a couple cold craft beers and sitting down for a brew-enhanced session of our favorite game. That’s why when we heard that Bioware co-founder Greg Zeschuk is bringing his talents to the craft beer industry — we geeked out a little more than we care to mention.
Yes, the man who crafted the Mass Effect video game series has launched his new project, The Beer Diaries. Zeschuk is trading a controller for a craft beer in this launch trailer, and he’s doing it with as much creativity and passion as he brought to the video game industry.
Zeschuk told Los Angeles Times Hero Complex that his goal with The Beer Diaries is to bridge the gap between common beer drinkers and craft beer followers.
“The beer sites themselves are kind of daunting for a non-beer person,” he told Hero Complex. “If you show up, ratings are in your face. It’s not about finding a beer you like in your city. I wanted to take it back one level. I looked at things like Wine Spectator and looked at how well the wine space is represented with content. It’s real. The beer space is way underserved.”
Be sure to check out Zeschuk’s The Beer Diaries and head over to the Los Angeles Times Hero Complex for the full story.
