New Belgium Brewing Co. continues to move distribution across counties, states and various countries. Last week, New Belgium announced it would begin distributing beer throughout Alberta, Canada (on Feb. 24). This will become New Belgium’s second Canadian province for distribution after entering British Columbia in September of last year.
“British Columbia was our first market outside the U.S., and we’ve obviously learned a lot about beer sales in Canada since rolling out there,” said Rich Rush, regional sales director with New Belgium Brewing. “There are some great emerging craft beer markets in Alberta, and we’re excited to be introducing our brews to the craft beer enthusiasts there.”
Initial offerings will include Ranger and Fat Tire, which will be available on draft and in six-packs. Rampant, Snapshot Wheat, some Lips of Faith selections and New Belgium’s latest seasonal release will follow about 90 days later. New Belgium has signed an agreement with Horizon Beers to serve as the brewery’s distribution partner.
On March 3, New Belgium will enter Mississippi, making it the 37th state of distribution. It is also looking to open Kentucky and Hawaii later this year.
