Total Beverage Solution, a beverage alcohol importer and supplier, added the Celis beers brand to its portfolio of beer, wine and spirits. Total Beverage Solution acquired the Celis trademark and product recipes from CraftBev International Inc. on Nov. 25.
“We are excited to add another well-respected craft beer brand to our family of products,” said Dave Pardus, Total Beverage Solution CEO. “We are currently considering a number of options for brewing, and we plan to reintroduce the brand to market by mid-2014.”
Celis founder Pierre Celis made his initial mark on the brewing community by reviving the 400-year old Belgian white style beer under the Hoegaarden brand. In 1992, Pierre Celis relocated to Austin, Texas, to start a new venture, Celis Brewery. Using his original Belgian recipes, Pierre Celis quickly earned recognition in the craft beer realm. Celis beers reached widespread distribution and won numerous awards before leaving the market in 2012.
The Celis acquisition represents the second craft beer brand revival for Total Beverage Solution. In mid-2013, the company successfully re-launched Humboldt Brewing Co., one of California’s pioneering craft breweries.
